General Questions
What is RentBubba?

RentBubba is a community-based neighbour-to-neighbour rental platform. We give people the opportunity to rent their already owned products that are not being used in order to create passive income. Our goal is to inspire a meaningful future for both humanity and planet Earth, while moving the world towards a responsible way of living. To learn more, visit our About Us page.

How does RentBubba work?

RentBubba connects people who have extra stuff with people who need products for projects, experiences, or adventures. Through the sharing economy, RentBubba allows our neighbours to list and rent out their products on their own RentBubba shop. People looking for products or vacation rentals have the ability to rent at a fraction of the cost of buying these products while experiencing more out of life.

How do I rent something?

It's simple! Simply search our platform for what you would like to rent. Once you have found your product, select the dates/prefered times you would like to rent it out. If it's available, you can book the rental right from the platform. You are able to contact the Owner at any time by sending them a message on their Shop to discuss any further pick-up or rental details. Enjoy your new experience, return the product to the Owner and leave a review. And that's it. You've just rented on RentBubba.

I have something to rent, how do I lend something out and make money with RentBubba?

It's simple! You can create your own RentBubba Owner shopfront, personalize it how you want it. Upload all the products you'd like to lend out, and begin to let your products work for you.

Who is RentBubba, anyway?

Bubba isn't one specific person. Bubba is the spirit of community in all of us. Bubba represents YOU, the Owner, and the Renter. Being a Bubba is someone who understands the economical and ecological benefits of renting instead of buying. Bubba is not some fictional character, but rather a community-constructed way of living that allows its members to share with their neighbors while benefiting planet earth. My Account Questions
Does it cost anything to use the RentBubba platform?

Absolutely not! RentBubba doesn’t charge anything to create your Peer-to-Peer account or start your own shop. It’s absolutely free to browse for and post your rentals on RentBubba. We take a small percentage of the rental transaction fee that allows us to maintain a quality space for our neighbours!

How do I create my RentBubba account?

Signing up for your RentBubba account is easy. Simply click 'Login/Register', enter all of the required details to complete your profile, and submit. You'll be able to start renting or creating your own RentBubba shop on the platform right away.

What is the RentBubba e-wallet?

The Bubba Wallet is your personal e-wallet on the platform that can be used to make or receive payments after a successful rental period. At any time, neighbours can upload funds to their e-wallet as well as request withdrawals from it.

How do I add or change my RentBubba profile picture?

In your "Dashboard" on the left side open the Hamburger and click on 'My Account". This is located in the Profile section. Simply click on "Upload Picture" then voila!

How do I add and change my account details?

Simple! In your "Dashboard" on the left hand side open the Hamburger and select "My Account" in the Profile section. This permits you to change all of your personal information.

How do I reset my RentBubba password?

During your login, it's so easy hit "Forget Your Password" and Team Bubba will send you an email right away!

Why do I need to create a renter and owner account?

This gives you the opportunity to do both! If you just want to rent stay a Renter! If you want to be an Owner you can have the cake and eat it too! Becoming a RentBubba Owner gives you the opportunity to rent to your neighbors and to lend out all of your products at home too!

Renter Questions
How do I pay for my rental?

When you submit your rental request, you'll provide your payment details to Stripe. Once payment is confirmed, your rental request will be accepted and the booking will be set.

Will I get a receipt for my rental?

Yes, absolutely. You'll receive a receipt by email! You can also review all your order details on your personal dashboard.

How do I pick up my rental?

That’s for you and the Owner to decide. Typically, each rental product will list its terms at the bottom of the listing, and will show you the hours of availability. Desired product location will be emailed to you once the product has been paid in full.

What if I need/want to keep my rental longer?

In most cases, you absolutely you can! Just go find the product on RentBubba and submit another request for the longer booking period. If it is available, then the Owner can respond or you can instantly book and pay for your rental.

What if I need to cancel my rental?

It's simple, in your dashboard under orders select your product and hit on the x button. This will allow you to cancel your order. Visit our Cancellation Policy for more details on cancellation refunds and more.

What do I do if I need help with my rental?

In a world of YouTube videos it’s easy to find the information you need, but sometimes you still have questions. We like to advise all Owners to add instructions or even PDF manuals or Rental agreements for the products in their listings. Since RentBubba is all about community, you can reach out to the Owner and ask them your questions as you would any other neighbour!

What should I rent on RentBubba?

What shouldn’t you rent?! RentBubba is a community-based rental platform and there is just so much you can do! Whether you want to start/finish a project, explore something new, start a fun hobby, or anything else, RentBubba is the place to go! See RentBubba's Prohibited List for a detailed list of products that are unable to be rented on the platform.

How should I prepare my rental for return?

When preparing the product for return to the Owner, the Renter should ensure the product is clean, that all parts are present and that it is in same working and visible condition as when it was rented. Renters are encouraged to take after photos to show the product's condition at the time of return.

How do I report an item that is not as described?

Renters can report a product that is not as described by requesting a cancellation through their dashboard. The cause of the cancellation should be stated and renters are encouraged to take before and after photos of the products.

What items are not available to rent on RentBubba?

See RentBubba's Prohibited List for a detailed list of products that are unavailable for rent on the platform.

Owner Questions
How do I get paid?

RentBubba will deposit the money you’ve earned from your booking into your e-Wallet 48 hours after the rental period is over. You can request a withdrawal of funds from your e-Wallet and receive payment through e-transfer.

How much money can I earn with RentBubba?

You have complete control over how much money you can earn off RentBubba! You choose your prices and how often your products are available for rent. If you want to make some extra money, list whatever you want to rent out and start earning money!

Does it cost me anything to post on RentBubba?

Absolutely not! RentBubba doesn’t charge anything to create your account or start your own shop, and it’s absolutely free to post your rentals on RentBubba too. We take a small percentage of the rental transaction fee but the rest is yours!

How do I set a price for my rental items?

You are responsible for setting your own rental price. You can set your prices per day for your rentals. We do however recommend checking out what other lenders are renting similar rentals for when determining your own prices.

When do I get paid?

48 hours following the rental period, we will push the funds from the successful transaction to the Owner's e-wallet. At any time, Owners can request a withdrawal of funds from their e-wallet and we'll send you the requested amount via e-transfer.

Can I pause my store? Is there a vacation or unavailable dates mode?

Yes, you can adjust the availability of your rental to make them unavailable for rent during set times or days. Once your shop is created under Owner, navigate on the "Dashboard" select "My Products" and select "Unavailable Dates" to add your unavailable times or dates. This automatically updates the rentals availability for that specific rental on the calendar and the rental will be unavailable for rent. Your rental will not be available for the Renters.

How do I put my whole store on vacation mode?

Easy! Your have 2 options. Option 1: Once your shop is created, navigate on the "Dashboard" select " My Products" on the left hand hamburger. Choose your product that you would like to change under Action Button then hit the "General" section to change your Display Status 'On' or 'Off'. Option 2 : Once your shop is created, navigate on the "Dashboard" select "My Products" then simply select your products you want to deactivate and hit the "Inactive" button.

Can I add blackout dates to my rental listings?

Yes, you can! If there are dates that you don't want your products to be available for rent. Under Owner, navigate on the "Dashboard" select "My Products" and select "Unavailable Dates" to add your unavailable times or dates. This automatically updates the rentals availability for that specific rental on the calendar and the rental will be unavailable for rent. Your rental will not be available for the Renters. Your store, your choice!

Can I add additional fees to my rental listing?

Yes, you can! You are able to add your own specifications and include any additional costs associated with your rental, but you must adjust the rental price to account for those extra costs. All other fees are built into your rental listing including insurance coverage.

What if my rental gets lost or stolen?

Bubba's got your back! RentBubba is a safe and trustworthy community, so we'd like to think this is unlikely to happen. Every transaction on the RentBubba platform requires a performance deposit the owner sets. So if your product is returned damaged or broken, you can file a claim within 48 hours, submit photos and information, and TeamBubba will investigate and help resolve your issue.

What can I offer to rent out and make money on?

What shouldn’t you rent out?! Most of us have a lot of stuff just hanging around on shelves, in boxes, or in storage that still has a lot of life left but isn’t being used. RentBubba is your chance to put your products to work for you! Whether you have an inflatable kayak, golf clubs, musical equipment, photography equipment, power tools or equipment, you can create your own RentBubba shop, post it all and start making money!

How can I contact the Renter?

From your Owner "dashboard", you have the ability to message your Renter by simply hitting the Hamburger on the left hand side. Click on "My Products" section and hit the "Envelop" message button on the product you desire. You can directly message back and forth the Renter through the platform, so easy! To retrieve your messages it's super easy hit the "Messages" button in your 'Dashboard". If you're having trouble connecting with them, you can always contact our support team at hello@rentbubba.com and we can help get a hold of the Renter for you.

How do I prepare for my rental?

When preparing your rental, you should check that your rental is in good working condition, has any needed/included accessories, and has been cleaned. Your rental must be ready on time as stated on your rental agreement. In preparation, Owners are reminded to take before pictures of their rentals before and after in the event of a possible dispute or claims.

Can I choose more than one category for my rental item?

Yes, you can! Choose multiple categories to best describe your rental.

How do I create a Rental Promotion Poster?

Once your shop is completed and you have at least 1 product. Go to 'Dashboard" click on "Manage Your Shop" then "Rental Promotions". Simply add a "Rental Promotion Name" hit next. A list of already existing products will show up! You can now add pictures to personalize your promotion. Organize and create specific categorize to make your store fun! Ex: "Winter Sale 10% off"
